The Desco 19283 Wrist Strap and Footwear Combo Tester provides a reliable and convenient method for verifying an operator?s personal grounding equipment before entering an ESD Protected Area (EPA). Supplied with a durable stainless steel foot plate, the 19283 can test both wrist straps and ESD footwear, helping ensure a continuous and effective path-to-ground.
The tester features separate test circuits for wrist straps and foot grounders, selected using a simple rocker switch. A green indicator confirms a passing test, while red and yellow indicators, together with an audible alarm, identify a failed test. The unit can also indicate whether the resistance is too high or too low, making it easier to identify potential grounding issues.
The Desco 19283 provides wrist strap testing from 750 kO to 10 MO and footwear testing from 750 kO to 100 MO. Its durable stainless steel test button is designed for long-term use in demanding electronics manufacturing and ESD control environments.
Powered by a standard 9V battery, the tester can also be operated using an optional Desco AC power adapter. The 19283 is NIST calibrated, with calibration performed using accepted procedures and standards traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
